Cultural Care Compass was born from a competition called "AI For Social Good. In it, my teammates and I produced
a an artificial intelligence based backend system to connect newly immigrated families with culturally
relevant support systems.
As an immigrant myself, I faced significant challenges when growing up at the intersection of two cultures.
From my personal experience, I know that many of the interpersonal hardships my family faced could have been avoided
if we were supported with social services support that was more attuned to our needs as Afghan refugees.
Ultimately, we won first place in the competition. Our project remains published publically on GitHub for free commercial access of
any interested parties. Our primarly target is social services administrator agencies.
I was one of three in our team for this competition. The fabrication of the idea was originally mine, but with the support of my teammates we were able to turn it into a Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
